Question:
Hi, Do you have any recommendations for adding lights to a hitch mounted cargo carrier? I have the Curt 18153 carrier and Ive noticed if I pack stuff too high my back lights on my Equinox are blocked. This results in a dangerous condition I believe and the solution would be to add lights to the cargo carrier and connect into my trailer wire harness. There must be a bracket or maybe some strong magnetic lights that could attach to the Curt carrier which would work for me. You have any recommendations? Thx

You are definitely correct. Anytime some equipment that you are carrying is blocking the lights on your Chevy Equinox it can result in dangerous situations let alone a friendly visit from a Police Officer.
Some great lights that you can add to your Curt Cargo Carrier # C18153 is the Let's Go Aero LED Light Kit # 98174LED. These can be installed on your cargo carrier by using the Mounting Bracket # BK70BB and Self Tapping Screw # FA1131822. The overall length of the offset y-harness wire is 88 inches and the length of wire for the driver side portion is 48 inches. If you need some extra wiring you can use part # 9653P which will give you an extra 12 inches of wiring to work with.
For a magnetic option you could use the Optronics Heavy Duty Magnetic Tow Lights # TL21RK.
I have attached a review video of the lights that you can check out.
