Recommended Roadmaster Flat Towing System for 2017 Chevrolet Spark

We have everything you need to set up your 2017 Chevrolet Spark to be flat towed behind an RV. For this you will need a base plate kit, a tow bar, a safety cable set, lighting solution and a supplemental braking system.

Starting with the base plates, I recommend the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit # RM-523185-4. These base plates are confirmed to fit your Chevy Spark and will install on its frame to provide attachment points for a tow bar. This kit features a nice hidden bracket design that will improve aesthetics and offer a cleaner look when compared to standard base plate brackets. I have included an installation video on the 2017 Chevy Spark so you can see exactly how they will install on your vehicle.

Then for a tow bar, I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520. This is a great tow bar that is compatible with the above mentioned base plates. It features a self-aligning design for easy hookup and the extra-long telescoping arms will allow for better maneuverability. For safety cables I recommend the RoadMaster 68 Inch # RM-643. Moving on to a lighting solution, I recommend looking at the Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit # RM-155. This system will allow you to use your Chevy Spark's signal lights without actually tapping into its wiring. The kit includes all of the necessary wiring, lights, sockets and zip-ties.

Then for a supplemental braking system, I really like the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Supplemental Braking System # RM-9400. This is a great proportional system that will physically press down on the brake pedal in your Chevy Spark at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to it in your RV. Just note that this system will not work if your vehicle happens to be equipped with an active power assist braking system (you can check your owner's manual if you are unsure). You will just need to add the Stop Light Switch # RM-751480 and 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332 to complete the installation.

One final item you may need in order to keep the tow bar level is a high-low adapter. I have attached an article that explains how to choose the correct adapter along with a link that will take you to our available selection.
