Recommended Parts to Flat Tow a 2017 Chevy Spark LT

Question:

2017 chev spark Lt . Called to order complete flat towing kit. After talking to some representive on 800 #.She said I Should us this instead item I did reseach on. After checking those # against mine ,some wont work on my car?? Example...suggusted dm9519326 vs. my pick rm 523185-4... Would like to talk to someone with better understanding of what is needed for that car.So I dont run into trouble installing or shipping back and fourth to get the right part. Thank you

Thanks for reaching out - I'd be more than happy to help out!

For a complete flat towing setup on your 2017 Chevy Spark you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. Here are the parts I recommend for your application:

Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - # RM-523185-4
etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar - # e44ZR (comes with safety cables)
Roadmaster Smart Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Wiring Kit - # RM26FR
Brake Kit - Part # DM86VR motorhome hydraulic brakes or Part # DM26VR motorhome air brakes
High-Low Adapter - See linked article (bar mount height is 18")

Please note that GM has a technical bulletin for the 2017-2018 Spark with a Manual Transmission that you'll want to reference to make sure you get everything set up correctly.
