What Size T-Slot Works with the T-Bolt Mounting Feature of the Thule DockGlide Kayak Carrier

Question:

I need your help in discovering the head size of the bolt for the T-bar attachment feature. This is for model # TH896 Also, I am seeking a kayak rack that will fit a 4 in wide bar. my current rack only fits a standard size car rack bar. Thank you

The T-bolts that come with the Thule DockGlide kayak carrier # TH896 are designed to fit a channel that has a top opening of 7/16 inches and bottom width of 7/8 inches. If the slots in your roof rack crossbars match then you can use the T-bolt mounting feature of the DockGlide. There are no carriers that will clamp around bars that are 4 inches wide.

I have an older TracRac One. The top channel opening is 3/8 and the bottom width is 11/16. I have a pair of Thule DockGlide Kayak racks. I would like to use the T-Bolt mounting feature but the T-Bolts that came with the DockGlide system are too wide for the Channel. Are there T-Bolts available that will fit my TracRac One ? Thanks !

Yes, for the older TracRac systems we do have the right T-bolt with part # HD-80122. The corresponding self-locking nut is also available with part # TAHD-11020.
