Question:
Installed Curt 1408 1 1/4 hitch by U-Haul for my 2017 WRX. Getting a sporadic to continuous muffler hitch rub under various hot weather / low rpm cruising conditions. Visited your How to correct noise and wishing additional input if available. Pedal-On... Thankful Regards,

Helpful Expert Reply:
That's a bummer you are getting exhaust noise. Vehicle manufacturers have enough variance in the way they make their exhaust systems and how they hang them that sometimes the hitch clearance is too tight.
Best option is to check out the exhaust and hitch clearance to see where the interference is and either bend the hanger mount slightly to give more clearance or use a different exhaust hanger.
I attached a help article and video that has more info as well.
