Question:
I need a 6 in. down receiver 2x2 that will support a 250 lb scooter plus a 40 lb mc 2x2 in rack. All Im finding is $$$ + items. Do you have anything in the $$ range? I do not want one I fear breaking as $3000 will be riding on it. Thanks

I recommend looking at the Roadmaster High-Low Adapter # RM-048-6. This adapter has a 6 inch drop and a tongue weight capacity of 400 pounds. This is the most economically priced option we currently have available that has the drop and weight capacity that you are needing for your scooter.
One thing you will need to keep in mind is that using this or any hitch adapter is going to reduce the tongue weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50 percent. For example, if your trailer hitch has a tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds, using an adapter will reduce it to 175 pounds. So in order to carry your 250 pound scooter plus the 40 pound carrier with an adapter, your trailer hitch will need to have a tongue weight capacity of at least 600 pounds.
I have attached a short demonstration video on this product for you to check out.
