Can Leaf Springs be Replaced with Higher Capacity Springs

Question:

My axle rating is 3500 lbs and and as i understand it 1750 lb leaf springs would be adequate per side. my question is can i upgrade to 2000lb springs per side equaling 4000 lb?

You can replace your current springs with higher capacity springs, like # e57SR which are rated for 4,000 pound axles (2,000 pounds per spring), but it isn't going to increase the weight capacity of your trailer. You'll still be limited by the lowest rated component of the entire trailer.

You'll want the replacement springs to be the same length as the current ones. measure them from eye to eye. Keep in mind your old springs may be sagging or have elongated.
