Trailer Height When Using Timbren Axle-less System with 4 Inch Drop
Updated 04/27/2017 | Published 04/26/2017 >
Question:
hello, I have a ezloader trailer converting it to haul my hovercraft.its a 3500 lb trailer with a 2x4 inch box frame. the axle was way too high for my needs so I removed it. I needed a wide trailer as I will be putting a deck on it. I need the lowest deck height possible. although the hovercraft is only about 700 lbs, I will stay with the 3500 pound axles. it looks like an easy install job with the timberlin axle setup. the 4 inch axle looks like the one I want with the 5 bolt on 41/2 centers. again the deck height is a concern here for loading reasons. can you tell me the height of the deck after the timberlins are installed. thank you

Helpful Expert Reply:
The exact height of the deck will depend on other factors with your trailer.
However, I can tell you that the spindles of the Timbren Axle-less System # A35RD545 sit pretty much at even height as the location where they connect to a trailer's frame.
Knowing that, if you know the tire size you'll be using and divide it in half you'll know the height the spindles will be off the ground. We can factor in that the weight of the trailer on the Timbrens will cause them to ride slightly lower than they do uninstalled so you should be able to get a pretty good idea of the height of the trailer deck with the Timbrens on it.
