Bike Rack Options For A 3 Bike Carrier On A 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

Although we do not currently carry a trunk mount back rack option that allows you to carry multiple bikes on your 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, I do have another solution that will allow you to carry three bikes. The only trunk mount bike rack option we currently have as a fit for your vehicle is our SeaSucker Hornet Rear Window Bike Rack part # 298-BH1302 which only carries one bike.

This leaves you with two options. Option A involves the installation of one of our trailer hitches and a hitch mounted bike rack and option B entails the use of a roof rack mounting system. I recommend you consider the trailer hitch mount option as it can be used with a much wider variety of bike/cargo carriers and is more cost effective than option B. In addition to the added selection, it will also allow you to haul a trailer or boat if the need arises.

For Option A, in order to safely carry a three bike rack system you will first need a trailer hitch receiver. For this option I recommend the Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch part # C13079. This is a class III receiver meaning that it is equipped with a 2 inch hitch opening with capability of towing a boat or trailer.

Our economically priced bike rack option I suggest is the Reese Eclipse 4 Bike Rack part # 63124. From our premium selection I recommend the Thule Hitching Post Pro part # TH934XTR. Both bike racks can hold up to four bikes and have a tilting mechanism that allows you to open and access the rear hatch of your vehicle while installed. Whichever hitch mount bike rack option you choose, it is recommended to use the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar part # 64005 in order to ensure a safe and level transport of all women's and children's bikes.

For option B, assuming you are beginning with a completely bare roof, I recommend the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Roof Rack by Rhino Rack" which is made up of parts # RRVA126B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK289. To carry multiple bikes on the roof of your vehicle you will need a roof mount bike rack carrier as well. A compatible option we have for the Rola Roof Rack would entail the use of our Swagman Fork Down Mounted Bike Carrier part # S64710. Although their are several different types of single mount roof bike racks i.e. (fork mount, wheel mount, frame mount), the Swagman Fork Down Bike Carrier is reasonably priced as you will need to purchase three of this product to suit your need of hauling multiple bikes at a time. In addition to the the economical price, the fork mount option allows for greater overhead clearance capabilities. Feel free to check out some more of our other options below.
