The part is advertised as a 2 prong outlet, though when I look at the back I see 3 sockets, Im confused?

The Optronics ONE LED Backup Light # BUL002CB does have three prongs on the back however only two are used.
The 2-wire pigtail to use with the light is # A45CB or if you want a right angle plug use # A49PB.
To install the light the PVC grommet is # A70GB.
