Question:
I recently purchased a 2013 Lincoln MKX to tow behind my Allegro motorhome and planning to travel thru out the country. What all will I need to install on the car as far as a tow package to be compliant? Also recommended tow bar? Thank you

The first thing that we will want to look at for your 2013 Lincoln MKX is a base plate kit so that we can attach the tow bar to your Lincoln. I recommend using the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX2625 because it is very easy to use, and when you are not towing your MKX you can remove the base plate tabs for a better look when driving it around.
The tow bar that I recommend for your setup is the Blue Ox Alpha # BX7380. This tow bar has a weight capacity of 6,500 lbs and includes the safety cables that you are required to use while towing. You might need to use a high-low adapter like part # RM-076. I attached a help article to help you determine if you will need one or not.
The wiring that I recommend for your use is the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit # HM56002. This harness is very easy to use and it results in a very clean look. After the initial setup all you have to do is plug the wiring harness into your RV. If your motorhome has a 7-Way plug then you will need to use the Trailer Connector Adapter # 47345 along with an Extension Loop # HM48235 to convert the 4-way wiring harness wiring to a 7-way wiring harness.
The last thing that you will need is a braking system. I recommend using the Roadmaster Even Brake # RM-9400. It is a proportional braking system so it applies the brakes on your MKX in proportion to how hard or fast you apply your brakes in your Allegro. My favorite feature is that since it is portable and it applies the brakes by depressing the brake pedal inside the towed vehicle, it can be use with a wide range of vehicles.
I have attached some demonstration videos for you to view as well.
