How do Wheel Studs Typically Get Removed From Trailer Hub
Published 12/22/2016 >
Question:
I have an old triton snowmobile trailer that I just ordered and received two wheels and tires for from etrailer. My problem is that the studs appear to need replacing and I have one stud where the bolt is so rusted on that the stud apparently broke or came out in the back as the stud and nut now spin in my impact driver, but it will not pull out. I assume it needs to be cut off somehow but not sure how to approach and afraid I may need to purchase a cut off saw? Could you recommend my best approach and which tool might be most cost efficient yet effective. Thanks for your help

Most wheel studs are pressed into hubs so what you can do is use a large punch or chisel and a hammer to hammer the broken studs out of the hub and then reverse the process to install new ones.
