Will The Curt Class IV 2 Inch Hitch # C14355 Fit A 2002 Ford F-150 With The 7700 Package

Updated 11/08/2010 | Published 11/06/2010

Question:

There is a lot of speculation about this truck. Also known as a F250 LD. Neither are listed in the fitment list. It has 16wheels. Will part # C14355 fit my truck? Thanks

The Curt Class IV 2 Inch Hitch # C14355 is listed to fit a 1997 to 2003 Ford F-150 and F-250 Light Duty. When the Super Duty line was released in 1999 the F-250 Light Duty became the 7700 package for the F-150 model. So the Curt hitch will fit your 2002 Ford F-150 known as the 7700 package.

You might have to lower the spare tire to install the hitch, but you will not have to remove the spare tire. The hitch will not fit vehicles that have a 20 inch wheel and tire as a spare tire.

If you will be towing with the Curt hitch you will also need the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 40331, the # PC3 Pin and Clip, and the hitch ball. Depending on the coupler size of the trailer you will be towing you can use either the Curt 2 Inch Hitch Ball # A-90, or the Tow Ready 2-5/16 Inch Hitch Ball # 19286.

If you do not have a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle you will need the Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness # 118344. This harness will plug into the back of your taillights and provide you with a 4-way connector at the rear of your vehicle. I am sending a link to the instructions on the wiring harness.
