Replacement Hub Needed for Harbor Freight Trailer
Updated 07/30/2016 | Published 07/29/2016 >
Question:
I bought a Harbor Fright trail, and I would like to convert the 12inch 4x100 wheels to a larger wheel with a 5 lug pattern. Can I just change the hubs? if so how do I know which one to get? Thank You

Why were you wanting to swap to a larger wheel? Keep in mind that simply swapping out to a larger wheel won't in and of itself increase the capacity of the trailer (if that's your intention). The capacity of the trailer will be limited to the capacity of the lowest rated component.
In order to change hubs, you'll need to identify the inner and outer bearing reference numbers and see if your can find a hub that uses the same inner and outer bearing. Knowing the GVWR (found on the data plate) would also be helpful.
If your existing hub uses a L44649 inner and outer bearing, then the # 8-258-5UC1 hub you referenced would be a fit.
In my experience, I've seen that Harbor Freight trailers will typically use oddball metric bearings, and sometimes oddball wheel bolt patterns which means that you'll likely find that you'll be best off replacing the axle, so you can get spindles that are compatible with normal bearing sets. We sell a few off-the shelf axles, in order to determine if any of them would be compatible, I'd need to know the hub face to hub face dimension and the spring center to spring center measurement from your existing axle. If you can reply with this information, I'd be happy to look into it further for you.
