The parts you will need to add a Tekonsha brake controller to your 2003 Ford F150 with factory tow package will depend on the trailer connector you have on your vehicle.
If you have a factory 7-way connector on your vehicle, you will need the brake controller and the Tekonsha Wire Replacement Harness, # 3035-P. The # 3035-P will plug into your brake controller and the other end will plug into the factory brake controller port, which will be located under the dash near the center console on your vehicle. No other parts are needed.
If you have a factory 4-flat connector on your vehicle, you will need the brake controller, the # 3035-P wiring harness and the Tow Ready 7-Way Wiring Harness, part # 118242. The Tow Ready harness will give you the 7-way connector that is needed on the back of your vehicle for use with the electric brake controller. This wiring harness will plug into the factory OEM connector plug, located on the drivers side between the back tires and the end of the truck bed.
If you need a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller # 90885. to be used with wiring harness adapter # 3035-P. The Prodigy 2 brake controller is our best selling model. It can be mounted in a 360 degree vertical range and will level itself automatically. It is a proportional brake controller which means that the brakes are applied to the trailer at the same time and same strength as the brakes on your truck.
