Expert Reply:
For your 8-285 hub and drum similar to the Dexter Hub and Drum, Oil Bath # 8-285-9UC3 for 8K pound axles, the Dexter Electric Brake Assembly, Right Hand # 23-435 and Left Hand # 23-434 are the correct fit brake assemblies for your axle.
Another great option for replacement trailer brake assemblies are the Electric Trailer Brake with Dust Shield, Left Hand # AKEBRK-8L and Right Hand # AKEBRK-8R. These brake assemblies have the 12-1/4 inch x 3-3/8 inch size needed for your hub, are designed for 8K pound axles, and have a much more economical price than the Dexter assemblies. I've attached a review video of these brake assemblies for you.
