Can the Platforms on the Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack Be Switched Around
Published 06/29/2016 >
Question:
Can you swap the platforms to have the bikes face opposite directions? Ie move the back platform to the front and vice versa? The directions they are facing now mean that the pedal interferes with my spare tire but Im hoping to find a way around this. Thank you!!

You certainly can switch around the platforms on your Yakima HoldUp Platform Bike Rack # Y02443 in order to change the orientation of the bikes. I spoke with my contact at Yakima and he confirmed this can be done to avoid a conflict on the vehicle, such as your spare tire.
The platforms are bolted to the rack base with 4 bolts on each platform. You can remove these bolts to uninstall the platforms. Switch the platforms around, and then reinstall these bolts to secure the rack platforms to the base.
I have attached the installation instructions for this bike rack to help you in switching your rack platforms around.
