  What you can use to grab the bit of broken key that is sticking out of the lock core is a set of nail clippers. First I would recommend using a penetrating lubricant like WD-40 with the straw to direct the oil into the lock core, and then using the nail clippers grab what is sticking out of the core and turn it if needed and remove the lock.   For you Yakima Skybox with the lock core that says A141 the Replacement Key # Y8772-A141 that you referenced is the correct replacement. If the key is stuck try wiggling the key out using a paperclip along the ridged side of the key. I have had luck in the past using dental picks to work broken keys out of a lock cylinder. If enough of the key stem is protruding from the lock, you could also try grasping the key with needle nosed pliers and removing it that way.
