Will this hitch clear the muffler with out taking it off?

You would not need to remove or lower the vehicle exhaust to install hitch # 36288. This hitch is a fit for the 1999 through 2004 Oldsmobile Alero, and also the 1999 through 2005 Pontiac Grand Am, including GT models.
