Question:
We had our Volvo dealer install a wiring harness to attach to our 2005 T@B Trailer. The standard Volvo wiring harness that they installed was a 7 way european style round pin connector and a Volvo Trailer Control Module, with one wire to charge our T@B batteries. Unfortunately the 7 pin round connector wont fit the 7 way flat pin connector on the trailer. Also, the Volvo connector uses separate brake and turn signal wires and the T@B uses combined brake and turn signals. Is there a way of modifying the TCM to work with standard trailer wiring or an adapter that will work? The Volvo dealer doesnt do this often and are kind of clueless to a fix. Thanks.

We do not have an adapter that will work with the 7-way European connector you have on your V70 but I do have a solution for you.
You can retain the connector you currently have and install new wiring for your trailer. I first recommend the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 119250KIT. This system includes the circuit tester you can use to identify the wires you attach to by function. You do not have to cut the wires when installing so no issues with that. You will need to run the black wire up to the positive battery post and attach the white ground wire to a clean bare metal surface.
Then you will need part # ETBC7. This connects to the 4-way and you will need to ground it as well. Then run the black wire to the positive battery post with the included inline 40-amp circuit breaker and run the blue wire to the blue wire on the brake controller.
