Question:

I want to purchase a 2011 Silverado crew cab 5ft8 box, I need to know if there is a fifth wheel for that truck.

It is possible to install a fifth wheel hitch in the bed of a 5-1/2 ft bed 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500, but since the bed is so short it makes things a bit more interesting.

The only slider hitch we offer that will slide far enough back to give you turning clearance is the Demco Hijacker Auto-Slide part # DM8550040. This hitch has 22-1/2 inches of sliding travel compared to most sliders that can only go about half that.

For a rail kit to install this hitch you will need the custom install kit part # DM8552013-71 which is confirmed as a fit for your truck. This would minimize drilling and install time when compared to a universal kit.

For a 7-way to install in the bed of your truck to make connecting your trailer lights easier you would want the part # 41157. Most 7-ways will be at the rear of the truck near the bumper which doesn't work will with fifth wheel hitches.
