Question:
My research seems to say that my 1996 Tracker has a separate tail light system. Can this wiring harness be used to wire it to be towed by my RV? I already have a 4 wire running from the engine compartment to the back end so that I can plug in some magnetic trailer lights and then plug the front end into the RV 4 wire plug. I would like to have things hard wired so that I can get rid of the magnetic lights. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Yes, from what I see your 1996 Geo Tracker does indeed have a separate wiring system. But wiring harness # HM41245 is designed only for the Tracker to tow a trailer and not for the Tracker to be towed behind an RV. You will need a different wiring harness.
There aren't any vehicle specific tow bar harnesses that will plug into your Tracker so I recommend using a diode kit # RM-154. This will make it so that the lighting will be done by the Tracker's tail lights (powered from the RV via the 4-Way you are already using).
I have linked a video of an example installation. It won't be the exact same on your Tracker but the video will provide you with a good idea of how it works.
