Can a Trailer Hitch Be Installed on a Modified 1988 Ford F-150, 250, or 350

Question:
My concern is where the receiver will be located in relation to the modified bumper on my truck. What is the dimension from the mounting tabs to the center of the receiver? See attached photo.

Helpful Expert Reply:
On trailer hitch # 75038 it measures approximately 9-1/4 inches from the bottom of the truck frame down to the center of the receiver. The hitches for the 1988 Ford F-series trucks are designed for stock models. I can't say for sure if any would fit with the modifications to the rear of your truck.
If the measurements for the hitch don't work out another option is to use a weld-on hitch and have it installed by a qualified professional welder. I have linked the weld-on hitches that we carry.
