Why Do Trailer Center Suspension Hangers Sometimes Hang at Different Heights
Updated 04/08/2016 | Published 04/06/2016 >
Question:
My double axle trailer with eye springs and equalizers has a tall hanger in center position. Can all 3 be the same height? Only 1 needs to be replaced. Since Im going to be this far into repairs I was thinking the higher end hangers would give me a little more clearance for the axels. Will it change the 25inch distance to much? Will it increase the axel clearance? Will side to side flex or bend with the longer hangers on the ends? Thanks

Ideally you want the leaf spring to sit as level as possible on your trailer. Since the equalizer used on the trailer can vary in height sometimes the center hanger will set level with the others or it can hang lower depending on the equalizer used.
Going with taller hangers in general will lift the trailer and would give you more axle clearance. The hangers should not end up flexing.
I attached a link to a page that has a chart at the top that has all of the hangers we carry with their heights listed.
