Finding Required Clearance for Hitch Mount Bike Rack to Fit a Vehicle with Rear Mount Spare Tire

Question:
I need enough hitch extention to clear the spare tire mounted on the back door of my vehicle so that I can attache a bike rake to my trailer hitch. Will this product do that?

To determine how much clearance you will need to clear the spare tire on the back of your vehicle there is one important measurement you will need to make. First, place a long, flat object, like a 2x4 or yard stick, against the spare tire. Make sure it reaches the ground. Next, measure the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the board. That will be the distance you will need to clear for a bike rack.
You will measure the bike rack in a similar way, from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright bar (or closest component that might make contact with the spare tire.
