No Power to Brake Controller on a 2005 Chevy Silverado

Question:
I have a 2005 chevy silverado 6 cylinder LS. I have the power distribution panel under the dash to the left of the brake pedal. When I hook up my tekonsha brake controller nothing happens. I have a circuit tester to check the power coming out of the distribution panel im looking at the second slot from the left The top right pin red only has power when brakes are applied which I know is correct. However the pin for the black wire doesnt have power. The two slots not used middle right, and far bottom left ARE hot however. I dont know if maybe something got mis-wired by the factory? Its weird that two of the pins have power, but not the one I need for the black wire. this adapter is the 3015 adapter for Chevys 2003-2007. Do I need to do something somewhere else fuse box maybe? to get power to the black wire too?

It sounds like you will need to make some connections under the hood to make everything fully functional and get power to the brake controller. Wiring harness # 3015-P is correct for your 2005 Chevy Silverado and it sounds like you have all the wires in the right place in it so it must be the connections under the hood.
I have included a link to our help article that explains the connections under the hood, among other things, to get everything on the truck working. Specifically you will need the Step 2 - Under the Hood section of the help article.
