Question:
What is the width of the mounting bracket? I have an awning and that is 2inch away from the door.

I went and measured the mounting bracket of the 55" Lock Side-Door Bar Lock Assembly # 3057-55 that you referenced and found that the actual bracket is 1-1/4 inches wide, but if you count the hinge portion that sits a bit above bracket the overall width is 2 inches.
