Question:

What is the stored depth front to back of the 20inch step ? My trailer is a vintage 1957 Airstream and the space for the step is only 14 1/2inch from the trailer edge to the frame member. Also, what is the height of the step in the stored position ? The trailer depth from finish floor to bottom of shell is approximately 6. Will this step work on my trailer ?

The stored depth of this step from the center of the front mounting hole to the back of the slide bracket measures 11 inches. The height of the step will be 7 inches when it is stored. I have attached diagrams showing these measurements.

To make sure this step will work for you, you will want to make sure that you have at least 11 inches behind the mounting location of the front bolt hole to install this step. As long as you have the 11 inches behind the front bolt hole, this step should work well for your trailer.
