Question:
Hey guys, I bought a Tekonsha P3 from you over 2 years ago and working great. I recently upgraded my tow vehicle from my Chevy Silverado to a 2002 International 4300 with Air Brakes. Assuming I have to go with a generic wiring set up. You have any knowledge on this or any short cuts for me? If you can tell me what color to color that would be awesome.

Before you do anything else you will want to see if there is a brake switch above the brake pedal. If there is, then use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to test the wires. You are looking for one that only has power when you step on the brake pedal. If it has power with the head lights or turn signals on it is not the correct wire. A lot of vehicles with air brakes do not have this wire which connects to the brake controller red wire.
Based on what I was able to find there should be up to 3 possible stop light switches you could tap into known as 1814, 1823, and 1824. There should also be a stop light fuse or circuit, circuit 70 with an orange wire, that you could tap into for the brake controller red wire.
The white wire needs to ground to the negative battery terminal. Black goes to the positive battery terminal via a 30-amp circuit breaker, and blue is output to the trailer brakes. I recommend using installation kit # 5506 for the installation.
If the truck does not have a 7-Way connector, then you will need to have one installed so instead of using # 5506 you could use # ETBC7. You will also need the universal wiring harness # 7894 if you do not have one.
If you could tell me if the truck has any type of trailer connector now, I can narrow done what you would need.
