How to Determine Capacity of Square Axle

Question:

I have a dual axle boat trailer with 2x2 square tube axles. How can I determine the weight rating so that I can order replacement leaf springs? There are no labels left on the trailer that states the rating. The tires are 205/75 R15 5 lug and the inner bearing # L44649, outer bearing # L68149.

Square axle capacities are pretty hard to determine. Unlike round axles, they do not have set capacities based on their dimensions.

Based on the bearings your hub looks like it's rated for 3,500 lbs. Most likely that would be the same rating as your axles.
