Question:
I built a small travel trailer on a Harbor Freight 48inch wide trailer. I would like to put electric brakes on it. Could you recommend an axle and electric brake combination that I could swap in place of the HB axle and hubs? The spring center is 46 5/8inch wide.

What you could do is use an axleless system # A35RS545E which comes with everything except a brake controller. The only issue is that you would need to also replace the tires and wheels with something like # TA73RR since the kit has a 5 bolt pattern and your trailer has a 4 on 4 pattern.
We don't have a straight axle with the proper spring hanger spacing for the trailer. But you could potentially use # T20BTR-6048 and have a professional welded cut off the spring seats and weld on new ones # TRSS175 in the proper position. For a u-bolt kit you would need # APUBR-10.
For hub and drum assemblies you could use # 8-173-16UC3. For brakes you would need # 23-47 for the left and # 23-48 for the right.
You will also need to add a 7-Way connector to the trailer, # H20046. The vehicle will need to be equipped with a 7-Way as well and a brake controller. For a brake controller I recommend the P2 # 90885 because it is easy to set up and use and it is reliable.
