Question:

I have a 2014 F150 FX4 4wd Supercrew Truck with the Heavy Duty tow Package 3.5 Ecoboost Engine 6 speed Automatic Transmission 3.73 Rear Differential Towing a 8085 lbs trailer Dry weight Utilizing a weight distribution hitch to even out the load. What I would like to do is to is to reduce trailer sway Protect the integrity of our rear springs, while providing improved steering with less wear and tear on our vehicle. My queston is this: Is this product from Air Lift the right product for my vehicle? Can it provide the desired results that Im looking for? And, least but not last, does the staff at etrailer.com think that this product is the best fit for my Truck or do you have a better product to suggest.

The best product we offer for reducing sway and minimizing suspension sag when towing is what you currently have, a weight distribution system. Suspension enhancement wouldn't make a noticeable difference for you since you already have a WD system. If you are still experiencing sag and/or sway you will want to verify you have a properly rated system.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

Aside from that proper trailer loading is actually your best defense against trailer sway. If you can load your trailer so that 10 to 15 percent of the total weight of the trailer is tongue weight you would be set up the best.
