i have the edge with attitude for a 5.9 diesel, the screen is black. cigarette lighter fuse is good. It works great when plugged into computer. Do I need to send it in or can I fix this?

The problem you described sounds exactly like a blown vehicle fuse.

Since Dodge changed where the OB2 port gets its power, you will need to check the fuses for either the underhood light or the dome light fuse. If you find a blown fuse that is causing the problem you just need to replace it and you should be good to go.

The License Plate Mounting Bracket #AA85-0000 or #XIL-LICENSEP may be able to help you keep the license plate from bending. The both have a 90 degree bend to make mounting easier if your plate is attached to the bottom of a frame.
