Question:
i have a question about the product below and its capacity with the folding extension. Does this still have a maximum load capacity of 500# with the extension and will i have enough room when the basket is foldes not to hit the back of my honda pilot? 24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier for 2inch Hitches - Steel - Folding - 500 lbs thank you

The etrailer Cargo Carrier part #e98874 that you referenced does have a 500 lb capacity, even with it's foldable hinge that allows it to fold up against the back of your vehicle when not in use.
To determine if this rack would fold up and clear the rear bumper of your Honda Pilot you will need to take one measurement. You will need to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the furthest point out on the rear bumper. If the measurement you took was less than 9-1/2 inches this carrier would fit folded up without interference.
