Question:

Good morning to all! I am replacing virtualy all equipment on my 1984 Shoreline 25 ft boat trailer. It has 3500 pound tandem axles and hauls my 1984 Chapparal 235XLC 4500 lbs I have already received my first order $820 and was 100 complete! I have determined I will convert from Hydraulic to electric brakes. I am ordering parts #23-469 rh, 23-468 lh, 84546uc3. I have checked my old bearing numbers and they match the ones supplied in the above parts. I am ordering all nuts and lock washers and stainless bearing buddies to complete the wheel refit. These will be outfitted with the Dexstar Galvanized mini mod wheels I have received already. The trailer had brakes on the back axle only with just hubs on the front axle. I have both axles down to the spindles and can go either new brakes on 4 wheels or just the two rear wheels. What is your recommendation. 2 or 4 ? I have purchased an AREO PROLCD light kit #TLL36RK that has the wiring with it. Will I only need the 2 wire for the brakes PART # DEKA 10-2-1 and then wire all wires from them into a new 7 wire plug to fit my factory installed 7 pin socket on my 2002 F150 with trailer towing package. I am ordering the Tekonsha Primus IQ and the plug in adapter for the connection under the dash. Thanks for all your help!

It's always better to add electric brakes on both axles because it reduces the stress on all components.

You will need a 7-way molded connector # H20046 for your trailer to plug into your 2002 Ford F-150's 7-way connector. This connector is 8 feet long.

I highly recommend getting a junction box like # 38656 or # PK52248 because it's an easy way to connect the wires from trailer connector to wiring for 6- or 7- connectors. It also makes it simple to replace or troubleshoot wiring connections.
