Will a Husky 26k Fifth Wheel Hitch Easily Replace a Husky 16k Hitch
Updated 04/06/2015 | Published 04/05/2015 >
Question:
Just ordered the 26k to replace my 16k Husky since Ive ordered a new 5th wheel having a GVWR of 16500#. Is it basically plug and play....... Just remove the old 16k and legs from the securing rails and attaching the new 26k and legs with the locking pins... how much assembly is required ? Will I be able to hook up without manually pulling open the locking mechanism as I did with my 16K ? Thanks !

The Husky Silver Series 26K W 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # HT31318-31325 will install simply in the same fifth wheel rails that your 16k hitch installed into in the bed of your truck.
This hitch also uses the same head design as the 16k hitch so the coupling process will be the exact same.
The hitch comes in three pieces. There will be the legs of the hitch, the crossmember, and then the head.
