Stability and Strength of Stromberg Carlson Rail Mate Folding Handrail # AP-101
Updated 02/04/2020 | Published 02/28/2015 >
Question:
Looks like the real is only attached to the base of the steps. How does the rail remain strong at the top and not just bend at that connection point? cant the foot just get kicked out and have the entire rail spun to the side?

The Stromberg Carlson Rail Mate Folding Handrail # AP-101 does have one attachment point, at an included plate that bolts on to your steps. Please refer to the linked photo showing the bracket. This bracket design allows for easy rail removal.
For a railing like this most of the force on it will be vertical - as when climbing up or down the coach's steps - rather than side-to-side. Certainly it could be possible to swing the railing away from the steps if enough lateral force was applied to it.

We just bought a Keystone Passport BH. We asked the dealer if we could upgrade the handrail for our kids. We were told there wasnt a handle similiar w/ out having to drill extra holes & were told we should not attempt doing so till after the warranty expires. Question: will adding this handrail void a warranty?
