Question:
What is the distance of hangers on 25 1/8inch tandem axel trailer
asked by: Clay M
Helpful Expert Reply:
It all depends on the spring being used, the shackles, and the equalizers among other things. There are some suggested hanger spacing measurements but really you would mock it all up first before permanently welding the hangers in place.
For example, if you used suspension kit # APT5 and spring # e54SR that is 25-1/8 inches long then the distance between the front and center hangers and between the center and rear hangers is 29-1/2 inches. That would create an axle spacing of 33-1/2 inches.
Shorter or longer equalizers or shackle straps would change all of that. If you can tell me the springs you are using or the capacity of each axle I can make some suggestions for you but ultimately it would be just a guideline and not a set in stone set of measurements.
