Question:
I am starting to rebuild a 1993 magic tilt 21 ML series. The spring hanger in the center is 4 longer than the front and rear hangers. Is this correct? I notice in all of your diagrams they all seem to be equal length. Thanks for your anticipated reply.

It is possible to have a center spring hanger that will be longer than the front and rear hangers. For an example I would have the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs, part # APT3HD. This kit has 2-1/2 inch tall front and rear hangers and a 5-7/16 inch tall center hanger.
A longer center spring hanger is normally used in conjunction with an equalizer. The equalizers are designed to transfer the load from one axle to another when the trailer goes over a bump. I am including a link to a FAQ page on trailer suspension and a link to video of the shackle bolts being replaced on a trailer. The video will show the center hanger being taller than the front and rear hangers.
When replacing your spring hangers you will want to make sure to replace them with the same height that is on your trailer now.
The diagrams that we use are normally a typical photo or drawing that shows the hangers being of the same length.
