Padded, Ratcheting Hooks

ratcheting hooks

The Sport Rider SE mast has a pair of ratcheting hooks that hold your bikes securely by the top tube. And because they move independently, you can carry bikes of different shapes and sizes. The hooks have soft padding that won't scratch or scuff your bike's paint.

Adjustable Wheel Hoops

wheel hoops

The rack has wheel hoops that provide a stable base for mounting your bikes. Each hoop has a hand knob that lets you easily slide it along the tray to accommodate your bike's wheelbase.

Folding, Tilting Design

tiltingfolding

The rack tilts down with your bikes loaded. So, whether you're at the trail or the grocery store, you don't have to remove your bikes to access your cargo area. It also folds up when not in use. This leaves a smaller footprint, so you can keep the rack on your vehicle to park in your garage. And if you want to remove it, it doesn't take up as much space to store it.

Tool-Free Installation with Anti-Rattle System

install with handle

The rack installs in your hitch without the need for tools. Simply slide the shank into your receiver until the welded stop plate contacts the hitch. The stop plate saves you from getting on your hands and knees to align the pin holes while inserting the hitch pin. Once the pin is in place, attach the lock pod. Lastly, use the integrated anti-wobble handle on the front of the shank to tighten the rack inside your hitch receiver and prevent it from rattling.

Complete Security for Bikes and Rack

install with handle

The ratcheting hooks have lock cores in the release buttons so you can secure your bikes to the rack. Simply slide the hooks over your bikes' top tubes until they click and lock them in place. There is also a keyed-alike locking hitch pin that secures the rack to your vehicle.

  • 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 Bike Rack Recommendation for Swing Away Adapter
No, you do not want to use the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 with the Yakima BackSwing part # Y02483 because of that 2" solid shank requirement. If your bike doesn't have a front fender then you can use the BackSwing with a rack like the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU84FR or NV 2.0 Base # BA22B. I really like the Kuat line of bike racks because they put a lot of thought into the designs so you get great quality and easy-to-use racks. Attached are review videos of both for you to check out.

  • Can the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack Be Used with Step Through Bikes
We have a solution for you either way but the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack # HLY84FR may or may not work with your particular step through bikes. There are different styles of step through bikes and depending on how low the step through is, the ratcheting arm on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack # HLY84FR may go down low enough to secure the bike or it may be a little short. However, if the ratcheting arm does not go down low enough on your particular bike we do...

  • Recommended Bicycle Cover for Carrying Electric Bike on Rear of Motorhome
I'm glad you like your Hollywood Racks # HLY84FR! Hollywood Racks does a fine job of building tough-as-nails bike racks. For your bike, I'd recommend using the Swagman # S24FR. However, the bag is designed for 2 bikes, so if you used it with one bike, you'd need to use bungees or something to take up some of the slack of the cover, otherwise it will be flapping around in the breeze which is not only annoying, but also causes wear and tear on the cover. The cover is designed to be used behind...

  • Adapter for low Step-Through Frame E-Bike to fit Bike Rack
The perfect solution for you to carry your EVELO Luna with the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2-Bike Carrier for Electric Bicycles # HLY84FR would be to use an adapter bar which attaches between your seat post and handlebar stem to create a horizontal mounting point. You can see exactly what it does in the photo I've attached for you. The bar you want is going to depend on the length between your seat post and handlebar stem; the Swagman Deluxe # 64005 is adjustable from 24 3/8" to 33...

  • Does the Kuat NV 2.0 Work with Bikes with Fenders?
I have a solution for you. Here at Etrailer, we strongly discourage using wheel-mounted bike racks like the Kuat NV 2.0 # NV22B for bikes with fenders. Mounting wheels with fenders can cause the fenders to crack or become damaged, especially with the added bumps and torque from your vehicle when it is in motion. For a solution that completely avoids any potential for damage, I recommend the Swagman Dispatch Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # S44FR. Since the Dispatch mounts...

  • How To Carry E-Bikes and Flat-Tow a Vehicle on the Back of an RV
In order to both carry bikes and flat-tow a vehicle at the same time, you'd need to use an adapter on the motorhomes hitch, I recommend the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter like part # RM-077-2 as it's designed for this exact purpose. In order to choose the correct one, you'll need to make sure your tow bar is within 3" of level while using the adapter. The above offers a 2-1/4" drop but if you need a different one you can choose from the list below. If you don't know how much drop...

  • Can I Use My 2 Aventon Adventure Lectric Step-Thru E-Bikes With the Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR?
From the sounds of your question, I assume you are talking about the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR. If this is the rack you are referring to, yes! It works with 20" diameter tires as long as you have the adapter # HLY24FR for each bike. This adapter does not come with the rack itself. This rack is a great choice because it has a super high 80 pound per bike weight capacity. It also accommodates fat bike tires up to 5 inches wide (if you have them). As far as your step-thru...

With a bike as heavy as 72 pounds, we only have two options able to carry that much. The first is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider Se, part # HLY84FR. It's a platform-style, frame-mount rack capable of holding 2 bikes up to 80 pounds each. I've linked to a video review of this below. The second is the Lets Go Aero V-Lectric FAT PRO, part # LGA77FR. The ecoHitch # 306-X7322 hitch you'd looked at has a tongue weight capacity of 300 lbs, which means that the combined weight of the bikes plus the weight of the rack used to carry them cannot exceed the 300 lbs. I looked up several pictures of Hybrid Giant bikes like you have and the ones with lower water bottle locations would interfere with the frame clamps of the Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack # SA4412B most likely so the Saris platform bike rack I would recommend instead is the SuperClamp EX 2 part # SA4025F which grabs the bikes by the tires instead which would definitely not interfere with the water bottle holder and also would prevent the rack from touching your frame which would protect...

The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE part # HLY84FR will work with most step-through frame bikes. I have a solution for you. First, though, the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE, part # HLY84FR, is capable of handling your bikes. However, it requires a Class III hitch. The good news is that we have a Class III hitch available for your 2021 Tesla Model Y. It's the Draw-Tite Max Frame, part # DT58MR. This has a tongue weight of 525 pounds, so you'll have no problem with a rack and heavy bikes.
