Looking for a simple way to keep valuables out of sight in your vehicle? This headrest safe replaces your existing headrest with secure, hidden storage that installs quickly and keeps everything protected without taking up extra console space.
When you're making short stops, travel breaks, or running into places where carrying valuables isn't practical, the usual storage spots can leave you wondering what someone would check first. This safe replaces an existing headrest with hidden storage, using automotive-grade components and a black cloth-style vinyl exterior that resembles fabric instead of looking like a hard lockbox. You can secure a full-size pistol, cash, passports, medications, jewelry, or electronics in a low-profile spot that doesn't use console space, then get back in the vehicle and know exactly where your items are.
A long day in and out of the vehicle calls for access that doesn't depend on one entry method working perfectly every time. The biometric locking system gives you fingerprint access, and the steel locking system includes keypad and hard key override access for backup. The biometric system runs on two AAA batteries (not included), so you have multiple ways to open the safe and retrieve what you stored before heading to the next stop.
A loose storage box can slide, get moved, or turn into the first thing someone notices once they look inside the cabin. The seat-locking mechanism secures the safe to the seat, and the heavy-duty steel construction uses an 18-gauge body with a 16-gauge door around the storage compartment. Once installed on the passenger seat, the safe has a fixed location the driver can reach from the front seat, and stored items go back into the same secured spot each time.
When the goal is short-term storage, the compartment needs to fit the item you brought without turning the front cabin into a catch-all. The safe has 6" tall x 3-1/2" wide x 8-1/2" long interior dimensions and can hold a full-size pistol, with padded interior lining to reduce movement and rattling during travel. Your firearm or smaller valuables sit in a defined padded space, and the rest of the cabin stays free of loose items while you drive.
Replacing only one headrest can make the front seats look mismatched, which can draw the eye even when the storage itself is meant to stay subtle. The bundle includes a companion headrest to match the driver seat. The front seats continue to look like they belong together, and the storage location draws less attention when someone looks through the windows.

Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer. Today, we are gonna be talking about The Headrest Safe Vulcan in our 2023 Ford F-150. So let's take closer look at it. What I like about the Safe is one, it's really easy access, it's gonna be secure, and it's hidden in plain sight. So someone's only gonna try to break into it if they know it even exists. So that's what I like about it.
But it's gonna be great if you have a handgun. You wanna put it in somewhere, you're gonna have a slot for it and a couple spots for some magazines. But it's also great for anything else, like if you have a phone and wallet, you wanna store this in here just briefly. Maybe you go on a jog or something, you don't wanna have that on you. You can secure it just like that.
Now there are gonna be three ways of locking this. So when I open it now, the door's gonna come out with it. That's because I left this unlocked and it's gonna be a magnet attached to it. So I like that, that these two pieces can stay together, makes it really convenient. But the ways of locking it are gonna consist of, one, there's gonna be this whole pad at the bottom.
This is gonna utilize a biometric, so it will actually use your fingerprint. The second way of doing it is gonna be using this keypad here. So you can have a code that you punch in every time you need to get in there. And if all else fails, what you can use is gonna be some keys that come with this kit. You'll have to remove this knob.
You do get an Allen key to remove that on either side and use your keys to do so. Now for the inside of it, we are gonna have some pretty decent padding. I like that just 'cause even if your pistol is a little bit smaller, you can kind of wedge it in there to prevent it from just kind of banging around inside of there. And it also keeps anything that is a little bit more sensitive to being damaged. You can also get it in different colors, different materials, and different styles. You can get it in a compact version for a smaller vehicle, and you can get it in a slide-out version. So if you ever wanna take out the safe completely to bring it inside, you can do that. And this is also gonna come with this whole anchor point. The reason why this is important is while the safe and the contents in it are secure, we wanna make sure it's secured onto the seat itself. So you just attach this to one of the legs, and as you put it in here, it compacts, and when it reaches the base, it folds out so you can't pull it back out. And you are gonna get another headrest for the driver's side, and this is gonna be your dummy one. It's gonna feel almost as exact same. It will have a little more padding just 'cause it doesn't have a safe inside of it. Now that's pretty much it. When it comes to the installation, it is gonna be fairly straightforward, but we do come over some tips and tricks that make it a little bit easier for you. So if you wanna see that now, we'll walk you through it. All right, so to start off, we wanna make sure we have everything we need. Now I already have the dummy one installed. It's gonna be the same process for the other one too. Where I'm gonna start with is gonna be these legs. Now this should already be bolted onto the plate on the bottom, it's just gonna be four bolts per side. And if yours are tightened down, you can loosen 'em up with one of your Allen keys because we wanna make sure we can adjust this for the time being. You're also gonna have this anchor point so we can fully install it. I won't be doing that today since we're just doing it for demonstration purposes. And we're gonna have the shims so we can adapt it to our fitment today. You'll have the hardware for it as well, so we can actually mount it to the safe. Now the first thing I wanna do when it comes to this is get the measurement or how far apart we want these links to sit. And to do that, I need to get inside my vehicle. All right, so inside the vehicle, what we wanna do is remove that old headrest. Pretty easy to do, you just press on a tab on one side while push up. Now if one tab's gonna be issues, I'll typically just go to the other one, press it on that, and it should release. There we go, just like that. That's out of the way. And I'm gonna grab these legs and we're just gonna throw 'em on here just for now. We'll grab the shims later. First, I just kind of wanna roughly mess around with that placement of the legs. Make sure you press those tabs in, drop it into place. I'll just put on the first notch, it should kind of grab on. And what we're doing here is not just making sure the legs are properly spaced, but they're centered on this bracket. Mine's a little bit uneven now, so what I'm gonna do is press this bracket over and adjust it so it's the same one either side. And what I'll do at this point is tighten down these bolts so when I go to remove it, they don't shift on me. All right, so this is tightened down now. So what I'm gonna do is take this right out of here and we're gonna throw the shims on the bottom, make sure it is gonna be compatible with these openings back here, and then move on to mounting it to the safe. Now when it comes to these shims, they're really easy to work with. They just slide right over the top. Already have one on there, so we're good to go there. Just make sure these are gonna match to the openings of your seat. Now when it comes to matching it up with the safe, the way we're gonna put this on is it's gonna bolt right underneath here with these openings. But in order to gain access to that, we need to open up the safe. And it's gonna be a foam pad at the bottom. You just pry it up with your finger to pull it straight out. And with that out, we're gonna have some hardware. Basically the way it works, as I have to grab the Alan Key with it at the same time, you'll reach over here and put it through one of these elongated holes. And when you're ready, we'll just drop this on here. Now I took my shims off. Sometimes, it'll be a little bit loose on these legs, so it'll help you out just a tad bit. And we'll put 'em back on once we go to put it back on our seat. Sometimes it can be a little bit tricky trying to line this up too. But when I'm doing this, I'm just trying to have it loosely on here just 'cause I might need to adjust it later on. Just like that. And you'll notice we have all three bolts in now, and what I'm trying to do here is try to make sure it is nice and level. We'll fully tighten these down. Now we'll say for one of the bolts, you're probably gonna have to remove a foam pad on the very backside. That's gonna be this one right here because that's gonna get in your way of this one right here. But once it's all tightened down fully, then we can put the foam pad back in. All right, with that done, now we can just push it down into place. Make sure you get it adjusted to the spot where you want it to sit. All right, and that pretty much does it for the driver side. You then can do the passenger side, and that's it. Now if you guys have any other questions, let us know here at etrailer. And again, I'm Matt, and thanks for watching.

item was easy to install. It was also easy to program the biometric reader and number pad. It looks great and is easy to operate
This headrest safe is a great idea! The spacing between the 2 stems is adjustable so that they can fit into any car's seatback. They come with various sizes of plastic sleeves to slide over the new headrest stems so the new 3/8 inch diameter stems can fill the holes on the seatback snugly. But the whole headrest can be pulled out just like the old one could. That contradicts what the website claimed, that the headrest safe would be "locked in place."
