I am shopping for a bicycle hitch rack. Our bikes our 700c and 650B with plastic and aluminum fenders and rear racks. My wife and I are looking for tilt, swing away, and carry capacity w/fenders. Does Rockymounts have a swing accessory for the HighNoon? Or can you suggest a hitch rack that can secure bicycle with fenders?

Hey Francisco, thanks for reaching out. I do have a setup that checks all your boxes. The Rockymounts rack you mentioned is a wheel mount rack, so not good for bikes with fenders since the ratcheting hooks need to mount to the tire, and the fender gets in the way. You will want a frame-mount rack instead. Here is what I recommend:
- Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # HLY84FR
- Saris Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks - 2" Hitches # SAR36VR
The Sport Rider SE has hooks that mount to the bike frame, so the fenders and rear racks will not be an issue. It can tilt away from the vehicle, and it also folds up for storage. It has a weight capacity of 80 lbs per bike, so more than enough for your 700c and 650B bikes. Then adding the Saris Swing Away Hitch Extender into the mix will allow full trunk access without removing the rack.
The main thing to keep in mind here is using a hitch extender or adapter will reduce your hitches carrying capacity by half. So for example, if the hitch on your vehicle is rated for 500 lbs, you will be limited to carrying only 250 lbs. This includes the weight of the swing away adapter (40 lbs), bike rack (54 lbs) and bikes. As long as you stay under that reduced weight limit you'll be good to go and this will be a solid setup that will work great for your bike trips.

I have owned the Hollywood rack for about 3 years now. I use it to carry 2 ebikes, around 60 lbs. each. The rack is sturdy, durable, and well engineered. I have a Toyota RAV4 with a hatchback; the rack swings down to accommodate opening the hatch. No issues with rust or any other decay.

We had the lighter weight version of this Hollywood rack for our road bikes which was excellent. When we got ebikes we needed to upgrade due to the extra weight and we purchased this Sports Rider SE rack. It's brilliant. Great fitment, with the vertical ratcheting hooks being spot-on perfect for the frames of both bikes. Rock steady. The quality is excellent, just like the other rack we bought. Can't go wrong with this brand and make.
