Thank you Arthur for helping with getting all of the necessary parts needed to replace my AC. The parts came quickly to my site and I'm good condition.

This unit was purchased a year ago as a replacment for the 2nd Dometic unit. Within 3 years the first Dometic failed and was replaced under warranty. 3 years later the second unit failed, and no warranty was available. This unit was aquired as an alternative to the Dometic, plus and upgrade in BTU. I Have been very pleased with its operation. The installation was straight forward, the hardest part being getting the unit on to the roof.

  • Is Start Capacitor Needed For Furrion 15k Btu AC FACR15HESA-BL-AM
Hey David, Yes, a soft start can be installed on the Furrion FACR15HESA-BL-AM - which on our site is the Furrion Chill HE # FR86PR. The one we offer and customers have had great results with is the SoftStartRV Soft Start for Single Zone Air Conditioner Setup # SSR54FR.

  • Replacement Options To Consider When Replacing Your RV's Air Conditioner System
Well there are two routes you can take when replacing the AC unit: Route 1: You replace just the rooftop (condenser) unit and keep the same air distribution box and thermostat. Route 2: You replace the entire system (condenser unit, air distribution box, and thermostat). Most people choose route 1 and just keep their thermostat, since most of the time it's still functioning properly but the condenser unit has failed. Route 2 is typical for people who have an issue with their thermostat...

  • Recommended AC Unit To Replace Dometic AC In 2018 Keystone Cougar
To replace the Dometic air conditioner in your 2018 Keystone Cougar 5th Wheel I recommend the Furrion Chill Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Furrion Setup - 15,000 Btu - White # FR58PR or Black # FR86PR. We have found the Furrion Chill to be one of the quietest AC options due to the rubber dampers, and its 15000 BTU rating and dual fans with dual motors will do a great job at keeping your RV cool. These units are compatible with air duct your Dometic unit uses.

  • Troubleshooting Furrion Thermostat Not Showing Heat Mode With Dometic Furnace
Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out. That usually comes down to the thermostat not seeing the furnace circuit, especially with a mixed-brand setup like a Furrion A/C and thermostat paired to a Dometic furnace. The Furrion thermostat will only show Heat/Furnace mode if it detects a furnace signal on the correct control wire. If it’s skipping from Cool straight to Dry, the thermostat thinks it’s an A/C-only system. Since the furnace has never been used, it’s very possible the furnace wire was...

  • Furrion Control Box Is Not Sending Power To Thermostat
Hello Donnie. it sounds like you are on the right track here. You have done all of the correct testing and troubleshooting that we would normally ask you to do for this kind of issue. There are really no steps I can offer that you haven't already done. It sounds to me like you have a faulty or defective controller and it will need to be replaced under warranty.

  • Recommended Plug-And-Play Replacement Roof Top AC Unit For A 2016 Grand Design Reflection
Before purchasing anything you'll want to first remove the cover for the air distribution box and look for the controller and the wire harness that hangs down from the rooftop unit and plugs into the controller. It will either have a 6-pin or 9-pin connector (pictured below). You'll also want to verify the BTU rating of your current unit so that you aren't putting a lower rated unit in its place when you swap it out. For a 6-pin connection I have the following recommendations: 13,500...

Hey Bradley, If you're just wanting to replace the rooftop units and keep your current air distribution boxes and thermostat then you'll just need to check the wiring to determine if you have a 6-pin or 9-pin connector. If you don't see it then Dometic probably mounted it inside the rooftop condenser unit and you'll...

  • Replacing Old Furrion AC on 2017 Forest River Cherokee With New Furrion AC
Hey Greg! If you're ok with black for the color you can swap out the AC unit with the Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner Unit for Furrion Setup # FR86PR. This is an old R410A unit so it will be compatible. All of our old white units have sold out so this is the only option available. The # FR86TD you were looking at is a new R32 unit so it won't work with your thermostat, controller, and air distribution box. If you want to switch to the new R32 refrigerant (everything is...

  • Troubleshooting Furrion 15,000 Btu RV Air Conditioner
Your Furrion Chill Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Furrion Setup - 15,000 Btu - Black # FR86PR is definitely not functioning correctly. We haven't seen this issue yet with that model, but it isn't uncommon that air conditioners when they have a leak, need recharged, or have a problem with either the thermostat or compressor itself have this issue. I recommend contacting the manufacturer if it is still under warranty or taking it in for service at a dealer you trust.
