I was told this item would work with this thermostat (#FR33PR) would work with this controller (FACC12SA-BL) via their chat as well as on their expert replies to the questions regarding this same issue. Nope. Still got an E3 error code. The controller was brand new and just installed (and installed correctly). I tested all of the connections with my multimeter. 110v power was going to the controller and the 12v lead to the thermostat was good too. I even flipped the A & B wires as they suggest, as well as wire the thermostat directly to the controller to rule out any bad wiring throughout the trailer. Still, E3 error code. At this point, is would appear that this thermostat doesn't work with the controller or the brand new controller is dead out of the box.

I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated to say the least.

My apologies for any misinformation that you received. I reached out to Furrion directly and the controller that this would work with it part # FR43PR. We will be in contact with you to make arrangements on a return. Please keep an eye on your email.

Hey Corey! Would you be able to email me some photos of what you're looking at? Is it the AC unable to cool to the temp or are you more saying the thermostat is set for a temp and isn't kicking on?

Corey

The temp on the thermostat is reading about 5 degrees off. For example if the thermostat says it’s 70 it will really be 75 so the air is not running because it thinks it’s 70.

Hey Jeff. I see that you reached out to us over the weekend about the E3 error, loss of communication between control box and thermostat. Before calling Furrion you can double check your wiring to make sure that is not a damaged wire causing a bad connection. The other thing to check would be the "A" and "B" wire. We have heard of some cases of those wiring being flipped in production. If all of that checks out, I recommend reaching out to Furrion for further troubleshooting.

Hi Gregory, that is not a good experience, especially with the seasons changing. The reason that you would get an E3 error code on your thermostat would be because there was a loss in communication to the controller. When this happens, it is usually caused by wires being damaged. I do recommend double checking that the "A" and "B wires are in the correct ports. Also, there was a manufacturer error from Furrion where these were flipped so I'd double check that as well to make sure they're correct. If all that's okay, then the thermostat you received is most likely defective, and I will be happy to assist you with getting a replacement.

  • Troubleshooting A Furrion AC System That Isn't Properly Communicating With A Furnace
Depending on the model you have the temperature probe for your system could be up in the air distribution box and since heat rises the air up by it could be warmer and preventing the system from coming on, causing you to set it 10 degrees more than needed. Newer Chill HE thermostats have the temperature probe inside of them instead for a more accurate reading. If you have a single zone (one AC unit) you'll need part # FR33PR and for a multi-zone (multiple AC units) you'll need part # FR93PR....

  • Troubleshooting A Furrion Wall Thermostat That Needs To Be Reset Constantly
Hey Deneena, If the wall thermostat needs to be reset that frequently then it's either defective or you have some sort of power issue. There's the possibility that while you're gone if there's other campers pulling from the same grid the available power is dipping too low to properly operate your AC system and requiring you to reset it to get it back up and running. Have you had this issue in other areas or has it only happened at this campground? Have you seen any error codes? There's...

  • Troubleshooting Furnace Communication Issues With A Furrion Chill RV Air Conditioner System
Dip 4 will need to be placed in the "on" position in order for the signal to pass from the controller in your Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner # FR58PR to the furnace. On the single zone controllers the first two dip switches are missing so dip switch two would technically be Dip 4 on the diagram and would control the furnace. Hello Wayne, thanks for reaching out. It may be possible to swap out the thermostat in your 2015 Cruise Lite 26', but the available options will depend on what brand of AC unit you have currently. There is no way to look this up so I will need you to confirm the brand. For example, if you have a Furrion brand AC, you could switch to their Premium Wall Thermostat # FR33PR. • Troubleshooting An E3 Error Code On A Furrion Air Conditioning System
An E3 error code means there's a communication error between the zone controller and the thermostat. Since you've already tried connecting the wires from the thermostat directly to the zone controller (great idea btw) and still are having issues, even with the A and B wires flipped, that would mean the issue is with either the thermostat or the zone controller. Since these aren't items that can be taken apart and fixed you'd need to replace them. I recommend starting with the thermostat...

  • What Does Dry Setting on Furrion RV AC Unit Do

  • Troubleshooting An E3 Error Code With A Furrion RV Air Conditioner System
An E3 error code on a Furrion AC system means you have a communication error between the controller and thermostat. This is typically caused by the A and B wires being flipped from the factory. With your trailer being so new this could be the cause unless you've been using it without issue for awhile. If the A and B wires are correct and there's no loose connections then the next thing to check would be the voltage to the thermostat. You can test the power wire to the thermostat with...

  • How to Convert Manual Furrion AC With Heat Strip To Wall Mounted Thermostat
Hi Nick; you can definitely convert this over to use the thermostat. The new setup will require the thermostat # FR33PR and a new air distribution box # FR57PR or # FACT12SA-PS. • Parts Needed to Replace Dometic Roof AC System in RV with a Furrion
The Furrion AC unit part # FR58PR is a great choice to replace the Dometic unit you have already. It will require a new thermostat as well with part # FR33PR since this kit is not compatible with the Dometic thermostat you currently have. If you have a non-ducted install you will need a new lower vent assembly to distribute the air. For that you'd need the part # FACT12SA-PS. If you have ducts already for AC then this would not be needed.

  • Troubleshooting E3 Error Code on Furrion Thermostat
Resetting the # FR33PR requires pulling the power from the thermostat. However, it is unlikely this will fix your error code. The E3 code means there is a loss of communication between the thermostat and control box. Double check your wires and make sure they aren't damaged and have a good connection. This is typically the cause of the error. It is also recommended to make sure your A and B wires are in the correct ports. If the thermostat was just installed the wires might have been flipped.

  • Furrion AC System With E3 Error Code Still On After Replacing Thermostat and Control Box
The E3 error code on a Furrion AC unit indicates a communication error between the thermostat and controller. The typical cause is usually a cut or short in the wiring. • Troubleshooting An E3 Error Code With A Furrion RV Air Conditioning System
An E3 error code for a Furrion AC unit indicates a communication error between the thermostat and controller so the typical cause is usually a cut or bend in the wiring causing a break. Since you've stated you tried directly connecting the thermostat to the controller and still get the issue I would try flipping the "A" and "B" wires since there was an issue in the manufacturer process for some units where these were installed flip flopped.
