Can you install a soft start on the Furrion 15k AC unit (model - FACR15HESA-BL-AM)? Which soft start is recommended if so? Thanks

Yes, a soft start can be installed on the Furrion FACR15HESA-BL-AM - which on our site is the Furrion Chill HE # FR86PR.

The one we offer and customers have had great results with is the SoftStartRV Soft Start for Single Zone Air Conditioner Setup # SSR54FR.

@Trey I would go with the SoftStartRV part # SSR54FR which actually does more than just be a capacitor. It also strategically activates your RV AC unit so that not all of the current gets drawn on it at once which helps reduce amperage draw as well.

@JamesonC Thanks for the quick reply. My furrion unit kept tripping the breaker on my 5000W generator. I bought that exact Softstart unit and hooked it up (correctly) and the problem continued. Was hoping to replace a capacitor and see if that helps before assuming I need a new unit. Any rec's on the exact start capacitor I need for this unit? thanks again.
