Features to know about

Keeps Your Trailer Level: 3/4" Rise or 1-1/4" Drop

Getting the right height between your vehicle and trailer keeps things stable and safe. This mount gives you a 3/4" rise or a 1-1/4" drop so your trailer sits level no matter how it’s loaded. A level setup tows straighter and helps reduce bounce and sway on the road.

Ready to Tow Right Out of the Box: Pre-Torqued 2" Hitch Ball and Pin Included

No extra tools or parts are needed to get started. The kit includes a pre-torqued 2" hitch ball, along with a pin and clip, so you can slide it into your 1-1/4" receiver and go. Everything comes matched and assembled to factory specs, making it an easy all-in-one starting point for basic towing setups.

Built Strong for Everyday Use: 3,500 lbs GTW Rating

When your plans include hauling small campers, utility trailers, or light hauls, this mount handles up to 3,500 lbs gross towing weight and 350 lbs tongue weight. The sturdy steel construction keeps flex to a minimum, giving you confidence every time you hook up.

Fights Rust and Corrosion: Protective Finishes on Every Piece

Road grime and moisture can take a toll on gear left in the receiver. The ball mount’s black powder coat, chrome-plated hitch ball, and zinc-finished pin and clip all work together to resist rust and wear. It’s a clean, solid setup that holds up season after season.

Straightforward and Dependable: Fixed Ball Mount Design

If you like simple gear that just works, this fixed ball mount is the kind of setup you keep installed all the time. With fewer moving parts, there’s nothing to loosen or adjust—just solid connection you can count on every trip.

The product I ordered looks great and looks to be very strong. It fits my hitch like a glove. They shipped it out the day I ordered it. I am very well pleased.

by:

The hitch worked out well. Although i wish i had purchased a larger riser

by:

The hitch install was easy, the electrical was a bit more tedious, but all is working well.

by:

Outstanding customer service, communication, shipping and prices were great.

by:

Easy to do business with, product works as advertised

by:

Easy installation, good manual. No problems on day to day use.

by:

It all worked really well after we went to the store to get a bolt. The box arrived with two giant holes. The cotter pin was still attached but there was no bolt. We had to go to the auto parts store to get one.
Other than that, it has been great and worked perfectly.

Every Curt product we've purchased over the years has been perfect. Quality, fitment, price, etc has been spot on. The Curt products are far better made than Reese and Draw-Tite. Not even close!

by:

Hitch arrived on time, however wiring component was incorrect, the exchange process for the right piece was efficient and timely, no problem.

by:

Excellent product. Good professional advise given so that I bought the right product to fit my existing hitch. Courteous, professional service. High quality, good value product. Fast shipping at reasonable cost. Highly recommended. If if need other products this is the place

Etrailer products arrive exactly as
described, they are easy to install and they are manufactured to a very high quality. I installed these on my Honda Accord and it was flawless.

I highly recommend them - David

by:

This starter kit was exactly the size I needed for the hitch on my Trailblazer, and has held up beautifully this past year. I'm confident it will last for the lifetime of the vehicle.

by:

Easy to slide in and out of the hitch receiver, and it doesn't even rattle around and create noise when I'm towing.

by:

The locking pin and cotter pin were not shipped

I'll have our Customer Service folks contact you, I'm sorry that happened!

by:

Perfect fit. Does the job!

by:

Pin broke with smallest UHaul trailer (unloaded) on back, dropping the hitch and trailer in the road. Fixed it with a better pin and hitch works fine now.

by:

My hitch ball fits like a glove into the receiver I installed this summer on my 2003 Suburu Baja. The ordering experience was easy and inspiring. Why can't all websites be so intelligent? I haven't used the hitch yet, but it's solid as a rock so I have no doubts all will be well.

by:

Quality product, well made, but design could be improved. The square bar that slides into the receiver on the car/truck is too long, resulting in the hitch ball being about a foot behind the bumper, at least it is on 2004 Ford Explorer. It becomes a trip, knee, or hinge hazard if not removed after towing.

by:

Exactly what I wanted.

by:

Received my Curt Towing starter kit for 1-1/4” hitches within four days. Made from quality material and craftsmanship. Looks and works great.

After a year using my Curt Towing kit I’m extremely pleased. Great, durable quality product. Thanks for fast efficient service.

by:

Very heavy this product is. I was very surprised when I picked up the box it came in and felt the weight, which makes me glad I bought a bag to carry it in. The last hitch I ever got, from another plac, because I needed it in a pinch for my last car during a move, wasn't even close to being as heavy and it was about the same size and had the same weight capacity. The metal on that one also didn't seem right either, didn't have the smooth coating this one does. I am quite confident this ball mount from Curt, who has been in this business for decades, will easily take the weight of my trailer, which I use for things like mulch and stone, and then some.

Of course I don't ever plan to over load it, but if something ever happens that requires me to make fast lane changes, I am confident the ball mount won't give out on me. I will still use good safety chains though, I'd be foolish not to. If it's one thing I learned i life, anything can happen no matter how much you prepare ahead of time.

So far its worked well for my trailer, making mulch and plant runs much easier

by:

Easy install! The videos and customer service were super helpful!

by:

Met expectations

by:

Everything arrived pretty quick and the install wasn't too difficult for 1 person (would've helped to have an extra set of hands). Took a couple tries to line everything up and realize that certain brackets needed to be unbolted before the hitch would align (tow hook on passenger side, and a couple near the rear driver's side exhaust hanger).
Minimal trimming required for the underside of the rear bumper plastic on the driver's side to make room on an 05 wrx wagon. Also needed at least 1 extra long exhaust hanger (kartboy) for the rear to make everything level with my 3" turbo back APS exhaust.
Haven't gotten a chance to tow with it yet, but it feels solid.

by:

Worked perfectly.

Super easy installation
and it carried a U-haul 5x8 trailer 1000 miles with almost full capacity on tow-limits.

A little disappointed that the connecting rod doesn't fit perfectly into the receiver hitch. So, when there is no weight on the ball mount, it is wobbly and makes an annoying metal-to-metal clinking noise whenever you go over a ditch. You can easily correct it with a piece of cardboard stuffing for cushioning or just take it off when not it use.

Great piece of equipment, works perfectly! Super happy with the purchase.
