MIchael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Thule replacement locking knob for your Thule bike racks. This is going to replace the locking anti-rattle hitch knob for your Thule Apex bike rack, as well as the locking bike clamp knob on your Thule Raceway Platform Pro 2. So, if you have either of those and you're needing a replacement knob, this is going to be the piece for you.The locking core is sold separately, but if you are just needing the knob, this is going to be an exact replacement from Thule, so you can trust it's going to work. You're not going to have to worry about compatibility issues or anything like that.
Just for extra verification, this is right at, I'm going to call it about two and three eighths of an inch in diameter, and then our thickness is right at about an inch and a half. But as I said, this is a Thule product, so you can trust it's going to work with your Thule bike racks, so you don't have to worry about that. It is going to be a great replacement for you if you're needing a replacement locking knob. That's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com.

I purchased the Thule Locking Knob because my rack became difficult to tighten due to a rusted bolt and worn knob teeth. I disassembled the mechanism, cut through the cover and spacers, and replaced the main rusted nut. The new knob fit perfectly; I only needed the bottom half, as my existing key lock fit the top. Overall, the replacement was successful, and I'm considering buying another knob and key lock as backups.
The knob was fine but I was unable to remove the old one so didn’t work for me. I was trying to replace the locking knob on the stinger of a Thule folding bike carrier. Would love to hear from anybody who know’s how to do this Thanks

Hey Tom, I can help. It sounds like your current locking knob is locked. Can you see a number on the locking cylinder of the locking knob? Feel free to send me pics.
These knobs are made as replacements for specific Thule bike racks. I don't know how they work for that, as I was looking to replace my TracKnobs for my TracRac with knobs that allow changing lock cylinders (TracKnobs do not). The parts for these knobs are identical to the TracKnobs except that these are female vs TracKnobs being male. I swapped out the parts, added lock cylinders to match my other Thule gear, and they work beautifully!!!
The part was a perfect fit and it was shipped immediately. The service was the best!

The knob for my Thule easy fold bike rack broke when it got bumped. This replacement sold by etrailer was a perfect fit. No problem with the installation. I have purchased several trailer hitches from etrailer in the past and have never been disappointed in the quality of the products they offer.
Fit perfectly although you’ll need to insert a Thule lock for it to work. So glad they made this available Thule doesn’t list this part for sale. TY!

Nothing tells how to remove these knobs. I think I destroyed it by unscrewing it. Only thing in videos and such is how to replace lock and dimensions.

These did not work with my older model Thule Roof Rack Arms. The lock bolt round hole is shorter and has smaller diameter. I was hoping they match my original Knobs so I could use the same lock assembly on all four Roof Rack Knobs.
These didn't match my late 1990 Knobs that is why I only gave them a 1-Star rating. They are a later version Knob with the same thread size 8mmx1.25 thread, and fit other Thule Racks with smaller lock assemblies.

This came extremely quick and was a direct replacement for the Thule Easyfold
Worked perfect for a replacement hitch lock knob for my Thule 9025xt 4 bike rack. Worked in conjunction with the Thule one key system.
I was able to repair my broken knob on my Thule Easy Fold bike rack for less than $20. The only hard part was moving the key cylinder over without the universal key. To release it - Put it in the "lock position" and use a pick to push in half moon tab. Then pull it out.
Just what I needed for my bike rack, thank you! I also replaced knob, and RSI was able to fix it with new key. Saved me hundreds from having to buy a new bike rack.
