Thanks so much for this!! The video was the most detail I’ve been able to find. I might be out of luck, I just have a hex bolt. I thought it would be nice to have something that I could install/uninstall by hand... do you have any recommendations?

We have the replacements for the knob of your Thule Apex XT, part # TH9024XT, here.

For the knob itself, you will need the Replacement Locking Knob for Thule Bike Racks, part # TH79JV. I've linked to a video review of this below.

Since you didn't have this to begin with, you will also need the One-Key System Lock Cylinders, part # TH450200. I've linked to a video review of this, too.

If you still need additional components, let me know. These are the only available.

We do have a tool-free anti-rattle bolt that is made for Thule bike racks. It's the SilentACT Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock for Thule Bike Racks, part # SHP2083. This has a built-in lever for tightening the bolt. It's not as easy as the knob for the Apex XT, but at least it is tool-free. It includes a lock, also. I've linked to a video review of this as well.
