When you’re not towing, the front end stays clean and uncluttered. The brackets sit farther back than standard designs, so once the drawbars are removed, they’re virtually invisible. No crossbar sticks out, and the setup looks factory fresh while keeping the mounting points protected inside the grille area.
Connecting is simple and doesn’t take an extra set of hands. Each arm slides into the bracket, twists to lock in place, and clicks securely with no tools needed. When it’s time to disconnect, you just pull the built-in ring to unlock and twist the arm free. This design makes setting up or breaking down fast and straightforward whether you’re home or on the road.
The heavy-duty steel construction gives this base plate kit real staying power. Each bracket is computer-cut for precision fitment and rigidity, helping spread towing forces evenly along the frame. The black powder coat finish fights corrosion and keeps everything looking sharp even after thousands of miles of highway grime.
This system bolts directly to the vehicle’s frame—no welding required. The kit comes with all hardware and instructions for a clean install. Reviewers note you may need to drill or trim thick steel bumper plates during installation, so plan ahead with proper metal-cutting tools for a smooth job start to finish.
Designed specifically for Roadmaster motor-home-mounted tow bars that slide into a trailer hitch—like the Nighthawk, Sterling, Blackhawk, Blackhawk 2, Falcon, or Falcon 2—this base plate eliminates the need for a quick-disconnect crossbar. The result is a simpler, more streamlined hookup every time you tow.

Looks great and was relatively easy to install. From beginning to end about 5 hours but I did do it by myself so this slowed me down a bit.
Great product. Fit like a glove
Very good service from trailer! Kimberly O was outstanding with her knowledge about products. The Roadmaster base plate was expertly made. There were a few minor deviations from the Roadmaster instructions which were clarified with a call to Roadmaster tech help.
Very easy to install. Drop the skid plate, take off the tow hooks, install the tow brackets. The bolts are a little tricky, have patience! About a 2hr job. Not cutting of anything.
Base plate kit was a direct bolt to my 2024 Bronco Raptor. I was hesitant at first cutting the factory bumper. I read thru the instructions a few times and watching the install video to gain confidence and understand why. Job took me less than an hour and a Sunday afternoon. Reading the instructions and watching the video took a bit longer!
I had roadmaster design and build my 1st base plates for my 2021 bronco, this set was very easy to install and did not take, just myself, about a half day to instlall.I really like this set.
Great looking product and super quick arrival. Planning the install going as easy as the first time (damaged and had to replace due to a palm tree jumping in our way.
The biggest aspect of installing these was the need to cut 2.5" x 4" from the existing front bumper mounting plates. It is a necessary step and actually is outlined in the instructions. But the instructions need to indicate that the steel plate is 3/16" thick. So unless your workshop has metal fab tools, you will have a very tough time cutting this metal from the front bumper mounting plate. Also, the need to enlarge a 7/16" hole to 9/16" in the frame has a similar story. You need a 9/16" carbide tip drill bit or a carbide reaming tool. This size drill bit (in carbide) is somewhat unique for a DIY guy. ANd even a heavy duty carbide reamer is not a common tool. So while I know the instructions say "Please consider professional installation", the instructions really should indicate you're going to be cutting hardened steel so you can decide if you have the right tools or can have them in hand prior to starting this project. Overall, the base plate kit will be a good solution for flat towing and is well-built with a solid mounting. But it takes a bit to install it in terms of proper tools.

While the install was a bit of some work, the base plates work great and are rock solid on the Bronco frame. All good.
