I ordered this and before I got it I found out the cause of the problem and etrailer provide an easy return.
I have been using etrailer and this seems to be the way they work on a daily basis.

by:

Seem like s a good strong motor it is paired with a venture aluminum gear box.

by:

Great customer service, as always

by:

Perfect fit and rasy installation

by:

Works great. This is what E-Trailer said was the replacement (for our no longer available) 2004 Next Level toy hauler. This motor fit with no modifications. Bolted right up, spliced in the wires and works like new again.

by:

Received the new landing gears with motor and had to install a month later due to weather and the flu. It was a breeze to install with a minimum of hand tools. The staff at Etrailer did a great job of selecting the exact parts I needed and sending via expedited mail. Took a photo of old parts before removal as instructed by staff so I could put the new parts in correctly. The new parts were of high quality and exact match. They went in easily. Took about 2.5 hrs with a few breaks included. See photo of a happy camper with new landing gear and motor.

Doesn't work how? Does it not fit your set up? If not, what is the part number on the original motor? Are you getting power to the motor but it isn't running? We need more information so we can help you.

by:

Austin was very helpful during the ordering and even on the shipment of this product.

by:

I ordered this landing gear motor and gear box on a Monday. It was delivered on Wednesday at noon. From Missouri to Boynton, Virginia in just 2 days UPS ground. Unbelievable!! I installed gearbox and motor in 15 minutes and was able to get my camper back off my truck and enjoy the rest of our vacation. The new gear box is made of aluminum instead of plastic and actually fit better than the original one.Thank you so much Crystal S.

by:

The motor burnt up the first time I used it the other three work fine

by:

So glad to hear that, Dan! What type of trailer do you tow?

by:

Quality parts and great service.

I
used this motor & switch as an upgrade to my Atwood manual crank landing legs, and am impressed with the instructions, fit, and quality of the motor and switch.

by:

Part lined up and it looked just like the old part. It worked like it should and wasn't loud or quiet. Only reason I gave it four was leaving room for the reliability of the motor. If it last a long time then it will be worth it.

by:

The fit was pretty good although a couple modifications were required. A little slower than I was expecting but works good.

by:

Working fine.

I have sold the camper that the jack motor went on. It was working when we sold the camper.

This motor was the exact replacement for the original. It was very easy to install. Just 2 bolts and 2 wires to deal with.

My old motor was clunking when I tried to extend the landing gear under load. Because I was able to manually crank the gear down I determined that the gearbox and bevel gears were OK so the slip clutch in the motor must be the problem. Unfortunately, when I installed the new motor the same thing happened: Clunk..clunk..clunk. After doing some more Google research I discovered that this issue could also be caused by lack of lubrication on the jackscrews that move the legs. I couldn't see any grease zerks so I needed to find way to lubricate them. Here's what I came up with:
First I hooked the 5th wheel up to my truck and retracted the landing gear all the way. I used the crank for this because it allowed me to feel the resistance when I hit the top. Then I removed the pins and leg extensions so I could access the jackscrews from below. Next I cut a piece of 3/4 ID copper pipe about 30" long (I used copper pipe because that's what I had. PVC or anything with a 3/4" ID would also work). I partially filled pipe with grease and slowly slipped it over the jackscrew, keeping my thumb over the end to keep as much of the grease inside the pipe as possible. This was a messy job and I got as much grease on me as I did on the screws!
When both sides were greased I ran the legs up and down a few times to distribute the grease then reinstalled the leg extensions and pins. No more clunking!
I think the process could be improved by adding a grease zerk to the end of the pipe and pumping the grease in that way. I plan to do this and make greasing the jackscrews part of my annual maintenance.

I would suggest that anyone having a problem with with the slip clutch clunking try lubricating the jackscrews before buying a new motor. I would have saved 120 bucks had I done so. As it is, I now have a spare motor which hopefully I'll never need!

Very pleasant representative.

by:

fast shipping good packaging. Motor fits perfect and runs fine but clicks under load similar to old motor but not as bad. I must have something else going on with the landing gear. Maybe overloaded or jack screws need lubing.

by:

Works great

by:

I initially put a new gearbox on my jacks thinking that the electric motor should still be ok. Wrong. It must have gotten hot too. I contacted etrailer and discussed the problem and was told to get this motor. I did and once it was on it works great. William B. helped me with this and was great.

This was not the right motor for what I needed. But after further questioning I found out my motor for an Atwood Camper Jack was discontinued. I was able to modify this motor to fit and it works fine.

by:

This is a great replacement motor and gearbox for my 1994 Lance 945 11'3" truck camper with Atwood jacks. The main problem with the Atwood jacks was that the ball screw shaft and ball screw nut were rusted, removed the jacks, removed the motors and gear boxes, removed the 2 pins and the helical cut gears themselves, ran the screw shaft out of the tubes. Cleaned the rust from the ball screw shafts and lubricated the shaft with waterproof grease. The only problem is that the balls in the ball screw nut are also rusted and will take some time to start to recirculate as these balls need to break free. The only thing that I had to do to the motors was remove the feet on the gearbox and also drill and tap a new 1/4 inch bolt hole. These motors have bolt spacing that is closer together. This $[xxx] fix isbetter than purchasing new jacks at $[xxxx]
